Learning, Education and Development (LEAD) Programme.
This signature programme offers you a series of three residential professional development weekends to enhance your skills and knowledge in teaching leadership, pedagogy, self-development and management of educational change, specialised for the FE and skills sector. This programme is aimed at qualified teachers currently working in the FE sector who wish to develop their teaching and learning skills and aspire to leadership roles. The programme offers 60 Credits at undergraduate or postgraduate level and can be used towards both Bachelors and Masters Education degrees at the University of Bolton.
Educational Leaders are faced with the challenge of performing in a diverse and rapidly changing educational landscape. Economic and Social Globalisation along with continuous technological innovations and students’ increased expectations demand creativity assertiveness and leadership. This course aims to target the challenges you face in the FE and Skills sector, and as such, will offer you the opportunity to develop skills which can be applied to different educational settings. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of your role as professional teacher whilst acknowledging the boundaries and legislation affecting teachers.
To be eligible for the course you must hold an HND or higher qualification. Typically applicants will be expected to have no more than eight years post-qualifying teaching experience, however all applications will be considered on an individual basis. All applicants will need to show proof of support from their current employer. Applicants must be employed by an organisation based in England to qualify for the subsidised rate.
The course will be delivered through a series of three residential weekends at the University of Bolton. Content will vary depending on your qualifications upon entry.
