Area Reviews

The Education and Training Foundation will work with the sector’s workforce throughout the Area Review process, providing support and programmes that will benefit both leaders and practitioners.

Jonathan Sharrock, Chief Executive of Coast to Capital, a Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) speaks about how the ETF provided support for Area Reviews:

During the change heralded by the review process, we recognise there could be concerns for senior leaders, middle managers and individual practitioners: the Foundation will build on our reputation for delivering excellence to staff and the sector at all levels and in a confidential, developmental and professionally supportive environment. Our mission is to support the continued delivery high quality teaching and learning throughout the review process. Our ‘business as usual’ offer continues – with English and maths support, teaching and learning development focused on the Professional Standards, apprenticeship development and support programmes and wider leadership and governance CPD. The Foundation will organise training, events, summits and professional support networks across England, as we have committed to:

  • build resilience and capacity
  • equip governors to scrutinise options
  • support chairs in their roles
  • promote and embed professional standards
  • protect high quality education and training through periods of potential disruption.

Professional development

Professional development is available from the Foundation to support leaders, clerks and governors undergoing Area Reviews on ELMAG.
